Tracey is the fore-runner to many a contemporary fashion trend, and the current enthusiasm for reclaimed wood is no exception. Making hand-crafted wooden heels back in the early days of TN29, her current AW22 collection revisits this material, conceptually commenting on sustainability and the environment, whilst physically doing something about it.
Tracey grew up around trees. In fact, her childhood home was heated by fireplaces that used logs from the surrounding forest. Falling trees are common, and the use of this wood engages the senses fully, from touch to smell included. This winter, Tracey has hand burned each wooden heel herself - no better way to preserve wood than this technique which dates back to the 18th century. As a company, we have one foot in the past and one in the future, preferring to use nature as a starting point for each design, always making something new, expressive and original. Hand burning is a process of taking a multiple and making each heel individual.
Sustainability is on everyone's mind - let's keep it on our feet.
With a focus on craftsmanship, these new styles each have wood-turned heels - burnt just enough to richly colour them, thus emphasising the texture and properties of the natural materials we use.
Meet Juli Smoke, a work of art.
The Hibiscus version.
Manuela Smoke is the season's power-boot. Autumn is all about layering materials and textures and this shiny black leather boot with burnt wooden heel embodies this to a T. The V-shaped stitching to the upper is incredibly flattering on the foot, and the unlined leather is soft as butter. The mid heel makes them perfect for day and night, and the option of two layers of insoles makes them cushioned beyond belief.
Nothing says Autumn style more than this.
No - not all black boots are the same. We named this one after Patti Smith - a legend, an icon, a revolutionary. Sumptuous black leather is moulded in one piece over your foot. The heel is wooden and painted with smoke. Let her originality inspire you with every step you take.

A Visit to Charleston
Charleston was home to Bloomsbury Group artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, renowned for their paintings and design work, and original thinking in all aspects of everyday life.
The house is famed for its decor - hand painted from top to bottom by the artists, who beautifully designed each others bedrooms. It is such a unique place, and you can tell it was done for their own enjoyment and use - rather than being about impressing others.
