Ashlie Skye In Her Julips
Share
We headed to The Rose and Crown in Kentish Town to watch singer-songwriter Ashlie Skye perform at the Camden Songwriting Circle.
Born in London, Ashlie spent her early life in South Africa and the Caribbean, moving every few years and finding music to be her constant companion. Since her debut EP “In My Boat” was released in 2024, she has opened for acts such as Eden Rain, Eve Christina and Leonie Biney. For the performance last night she wore Tracey Neuls' Julip Spectator – shoes also destined for the stage.

Ashlie Skye's new EP 'Strange Heart' combines her often impassioned, sometimes biting lyrics with soaring upbeat melodies...a soundtrack aimed at distilling the chaos of everyday life so that we may endure it with grace.
Camden Songwriting Circle is a North London project offering intimate events where musicians can meet, play, and receive feedback. The musicians sit on stage and talk about the music between acoustic songs, creating an intimate space. This is vital for independent, emerging musicians to showcase their work to a supportive crowd.
