About Tracey Neuls

The Shoe Designer with a Unique Vision

Tracey Neuls, a Canadian-born designer, began her journey in footwear at just nine years old, crafting shoes from cereal boxes and tissue rolls. Encouraged by her mother, Neuls embraced her creativity from a young age. Her early years spent wandering the Vancouver Island countryside with The Smiths and Frankie Goes to Hollywood on her headphones instilled a design philosophy rooted in contrasts—combining the traditional and contemporary, neon with natural, and a rebelliousness grounded in precision.

A Path in Footwear Design
Neuls’ career began with fashion design, due to limited footwear-focused education options in Canada and the U.S. She worked for brands like Nike and Falke, cultivating a unique approach to footwear that considered body shape and natural fit. Her background in fashion design directly influences her process, as she drapes leather over the foot to follow natural contours rather than forcing a fit.

A Visionary Label Since 2000
After studying at Cordwainers Footwear College in London and working in Italy, Neuls launched her first label, TN_29, at age 29. Inspired by individuality over branding, she has remained committed to creating shoes that feel authentic to the wearer. Today, her collections are celebrated under her eponymous label, Tracey Neuls, continuing her mission of timeless, original, and comfortable footwear. With over 30 collections to date, Neuls’ designs are known for their sculptural forms, embodying her philosophy: "Good design is something you feel as well as you see."

Award-Winning Innovation
Throughout her career, Neuls has earned numerous accolades for her innovative designs, including recognition from the Royal Society of Art, The London Design Museum, and a nomination as one of London’s “Top Ten Creatives” by TimeOut. Her work has been showcased at prestigious venues, including the Barcelona Museum of Modern Art, while her Marylebone boutique is frequently listed among London’s best.

London Boutiques

From the artistic installations to the swaying shoes suspended like sculptures, Tracey Neuls' boutiques in Marylebone and beyond offer a sensory experience. Each season, the interior reflects the evolution of her collections, inviting customers to engage deeply with the artistry and craftsmanship of each piece.

Boutiques and Experience
Since opening her first boutique in Marylebone in 2005, Tracey Neuls has reimagined the retail space as an art gallery. Shoes are displayed like three-dimensional sculptures, suspended from the ceiling, allowing customers to appreciate their design from all angles.
