The Laundromat Shoot with Jemima Burrill

This fantastic Laundromat shoot was conceived of by Jemima Burrill - artist, curator, and long-time collaborator of Tracey Neuls. We are such great fans of her work and philosophy.

Having studied sculpture at Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art, Jemima went on to show her videos internationally, and is one of the founding curators at NOW Gallery, London.

'Recovery', 2025, is Jemima's ongoing photo project that draws upon her multiple talents for performance, photography and film. Buried in bins, Jemima's legs poke out wearing fabulous shoes, exuding strength and optimism in the face of adversity. One photo even sees her carted off by the bin man. She finds inspiration in notions of 'random rubbish as a reassuring place to nestle', seeking a sense of belonging, even in strange places and during times of adversity. Often working with the domestic, she elevates the mundane to the significant - with a preoccupation with 'inappropriate behaviour'.

Megaphone Woman is Jemima's alter-ego. As artist and bi-polar mother, she speaks out 'about life and lessons' often interviewing and collaborating with diverse creatives spanning artists, designers, writers, gardeners and feminists.
