Contemporary artist Peter Gibson AKA Roadsworth has designed a large floor-based artwork for Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross this Summer.
The interactive piece has been designed to help children with road safety and bike-riding as well as being visually appealing. The floor painting includes images of flora and fauna found around the Kings Cross area, and will be on view over the summer until September. Great fun for kids and adults alike.
Local people have been employed to install the artwork, which is painted using road sign paint, covering the route from Granary Square down the main ramp into Coal Drops Yard.
Peter Gibson AKA Roadsworth is a leading street art mural painter who gained notoriety early on for his humorous stencil-based subversions of elements of the urban and rural landscapes.
Combining art and activism to great effect, he has worked with both Greenpeace and Amnesty International as well as being included in international exhibits and commissions.
