Frieze London is the Art event of the year, and we love it almost as much as the art crowd loves Tracey Neuls. Just see how many Frieze-goers you spot in our shoes!
Here, we give our top Art tips, plus essential Fair footwear and exclusive discounts.
Fair Essentials
Providing the perfect balance in Art and design, material and comfort, Tracey Neuls shoes are ideal for the go-getting creative individual. Like works of sculpture - the material properties are integral to form. Texture and surface are inventive, whilst our shoes are often named after the artists who inspire them, from Magritte and Escher, to Mondrian, Holzer and Kusama.
Comfort is paramount when walking around the fair. These Magritte Malbec are perfect for their flat, supportive soles, beautiful textured leather, and eye-catching colour. They are named after the Surrealist painter Magritte - who often painted boots. It is one of his paintings 'The Red Model', that in fact inspired this design. What better tale to tell when you get complimented on your footwear.
Alternatively, why not set heads turning in DOT, the ultimate statement sneakers with sculptural circle design. This season sees them return in Moss Green yet they are also available in Black, Off-White, and Natural Beige. Super comfy and lightweight - the Dot sole-unit is produced with material byproducts of the sugar cane industry, and eventually (a long time in the future) become biodegradable, thus we will all be doing our bit for the environment.
Art Picks
Speaking of environment -
Frieze London and
Frieze Masters are held in the stunning environs of Regents Park - showcasing the very best in contemporary and canonical art respectively. 2024 sees Frieze London redesigned, placing solo and curated presentations at the fore, with an emphasis on the interests of artists - harking back to the original values of the fair.
We are very much looking forward to seeing Japanese-Swiss artist Leiko Ikemura's ethereal, humorous, surreal works at
Lisson Gallery in her first ever London exhibition. Concurrent to the indoor fair is
Frieze Sculpture, a free outdoor display of contemporary sculpture in the surrounding area of Regents Park, this year curated by
Fatoş Üstek - leading voice in contemporary art. Look out for Brazilian artist Juliana Cerqueira Leite with Gallery
TJ Boulting, and her works: '
Shovel, Button and
Sand' drawn from the series: ‘
Repetitive Movements That Make and Unmake the World’. This series includes drawings and sculptures that focus on commonplace actions, such as tying shoelaces or turning the pages of a book. The artist then turns these movement sequences into precise choreographies which are captured in line drawings that resemble anatomical structures. '
Shovel, Button and
Sand' translate these drawings into solid sculptural form - both playful and inventive.
Meanwhile, Frieze Masters' Spotlight area features artists who were overlooked throughout history. Look out for a celebration of 100 years of Surrealism - spanning a number of Frieze masters galleries, featuring many of the women artists who were not lauded as highly as their male peers during their lifetimes.
The Art fair is a short walk from our TN boutique on Marylebone Lane - so do pop in and say hello when you're in the area!
Frieze: October 9th to Sunday October 13th, 2024, Regents park, London.
