Even though precious to the touch, velvet isn't as delicate a material as you might think. The one trick to caring for velvet is to refrain from cleaning it while it's wet. For really persistent stains, try using a solution of washing up liquid with water - however, make sure to test it on a discreet area first. It's crucial to use spray protection, too - the first step is to prevent the stains before they even occur!
