London Design Biennale 2021

"I am always looking for beauty that is as powerful as the message. This years London Design Biennale curator Es Devlin, brought together 50 different countries to present work under the theme ‘Resonate’ explaining that everything we design and everything we produce resonates. I enjoyed three exhibits in particular, they made their point and presented it beautifully and simply. Not to mention the Somerset House space is great in its own right.
One country looked into the future and imagined what our era’s archeological dig might look like - I love a collection. A red glowing interactive space invited you to literally switch off any issues you found intolerable, each switch was labeled with a hashtag label. I could imagine that not all the topics they covered would be so cut and dry to all its viewers. Outside in the courtyard, free to all, is a beautiful thought provoking gathering of the main issues we face today, all presented alongside a soundtrack of singing birds and a walkable, living trail of messages.
Its on until Sunday, rain free inside."
