'Our Thin Heir' London Exhibition
Share
Plucked out of the alps at the turn of the century and placed momentarily in Highgate, we have The Sanatorium for Our Thin Heir.
The works in this exhibition are here for a week-long retreat. Although they are all patients of the half-lung club, they have arrived in different states of well-ness.
Taking from the high-altitude atmosphere of Thomas Mann’s ‘The Magic Mountain’, the show brings together a cast of works for their first visit to this institution where time can become warped, compressed, and often elongated.
The works of the fifteen included artists were selected with this atmosphere in mind, as well as in response to the specific architecture of these two rooms of the Mills Centre Gallery of Highgate School, which is the permanent home to Kyffin Williams' mountain landscapes.
