Darren Almond’s new show at the White Cube is a meditative and pensive visit. Upstairs is still and calm, the room filled with a series of time-lapse photographs taken in the misty Faroe Islands. In the darker, lower level of the gallery a vast sweeping landscape of snowy Siberia is projected on the back wall. Two other floor-to-ceiling projections of ice cracking stand tall and fast moving, making it an involving experience. The abstract footage is made all the more haunting by the soundscape created by composer Max Richter. A lovely exhibition to go and see.
