Pretty Raw: After and around Helen Frankenthaler was a painting show at Brandeis University's Rose Art Museum, Massachusetts, which took the artist Helen Frankenthaler as a lens through which to refocus our vision of modernist art over the past 50 years. Decoration, humour, femininity and masculinity, the everyday, pleasure, and authorial control took centre stage.
