Slight confession, we here at Tracey Neuls love a good Canadian band. Neil Young, anyone? This may lie in the fact that despite making our home here in London, a few of us originate from the other side of the pond.
As such, we’d like to share with you Mark Hamilton and his band Woodpigeon. Hailing from Calgary, Hamilton has distilled his experiences spanning the Prairies to Scotland into thoughtful melodies: ballads of boys past, country seascapes, and family heritage artfully toeing the line between folk and pop.
Woodpigeon is a reminder of winter tea dates, serendipitous road-trips, and summer bicycle rides under the sunny Albertan sky.
Check them out in London on May 6 when they play Union Chapel as they promote their new album Die Stadt Muzikanten.
