Are Heels out of Fashion?
Share
I think we all agree that the pandemic of 2020/21 made us rethink our priorities. Were you aware that since then there has been a huge drop in the worldwide sale of high heels?
We have seen a shift towards comfort, practicality and wellbeing which explains the ubiquity of sneakers that we currently see. But actually, Tracey Neuls has been ahead of the curve for some time - making inventive, stylish flat shoes for women that have all the delicacy, glamour and elegance of heels, but which do not damage the feet or body through discomfort and bad posture.
Styles like Magritte have a WOW factor, yet are flat and perfectly crafted for comfort, in shimmering Silver leather as well as a range of other colours.
New in for SS24 is Highlander - which offers balletic elegance but with a very practical, supportive flat sole. Pair with red socks for a unique and powerful look.
Also on the cards - and this is something we are VERY excited about, is the launch in March '24, of our first sustainable trainer collection. With a natural and bio-based footbed - these highly flexible and lightweight shoes offer you a sneaker but with a sculptural twist. See our post on the Chick'r trainer.
This isn't to say that we no longer make heels. We just make sure they're wearable, and provide optimal comfort for our feet. To do this we ensure that the heel height is never more than 2.5 inches, for example, see Opentop SS24 below. They provide impact; and are super cool, unique - comfortable and chic - all at the same time!
