Birgit Jürgenssen - Lorna Robertson
Share
We headed to local London Gallery Alison Jacques on Cork Street this week, to catch the exhibitions by painter Lorna Robertson, and conceptual artist Birgit Jürgenssen. Jürgenssen examines the point at which labour, the feminine, and the object intersect, with so many shoe references, we just had to share!

'My works are a jig-saw puzzle about the causes of erotic manipulation and their relationship to self-confidence. A game of self and the other, about subject and object, private and public. It is also the confrontation of one reality with another vision of the same reality.' Birgit Jürgenssen

Lorna Robertson is a Scottish painter and somewhat surprisingly this is her first London exhibition. Her lyrical paintings are joyfully uplifting, at once soft and vivid, with colour and form bleeding softly with sparkling femininity.
It is on view for one remaining week - go see!
