Whether you'll be with your mum, remembering your mum, or you are the mum, the sun is set to shine throughout Mother's Day weekend. We've put together a guide on how to spend a leisurely day in Marylebone and Coal Drop's Yard.
Coal Drops Yard
Visit Coal Drop's Yard with its carefully curated concept stores set in historic arches. Originally built in 1850, and sensitively refurbished to reflect the functional heritage of the site, CDY has undergone many transformations through the years, but the grade II listed building remains. The surrounding area has been transformed by the 2019 multi-award winning architectural project to revamp the area. Take a walk along the canal in the sunshine, browse the shops and have brunch or lunch in one of the fantastic cafes or restaurants. The area is a thrill for those of all ages, with cutting edge design features fit for the Central Saint Martins Arts College that is also housed there.
Sons and Daughters
We recommend Sons and Daughters sandwiches with their sensational ingredients. Pickled cucumbers, wasabi cress, and delicately smoked relishes; punchy cheeses and meats, not to mention the exciting vegan options!
Sit and picnic by the canal, or head to one of the many award winning restaurants and cafes the area has to offer.
Lina Stores
You really must visit Lina Stores if you haven't already. The Kings Cross edition on Stable Street is housed in the last remaining heritage building of Kings Cross, with a mint green retro interior straight out of a Wes Anderson film. You can buy Italian produce from the deli or dine in beside an open kitchen on antipasti, pasta and a range of delicious desserts.
Lina from Genova opened her first delicatessen in 1944 selling produce straight from Italy and now has four London stores and restaurants to her name, all with an acute sensitivity to heritage, space and design.

Gingerbread Exhibition at the Outside Art Project
This outdoor exhibition brings together the stories of 16 London-based single parents and their children, in order to raise awareness for Gingerbread - the charity for single parents. You will find the exhibition by Jonathan Donovan displayed on the outdoor art benches in Pancras Square and Lewis Cubitt Square. Read more about the important work Gingerbread do here.
Le Chocolat - Alain Ducasse
We cannot rave about Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse enough. If you want to treat your mum - or need to treat yourself, then there really is no better way than with these fine French chocolates brought to you by the Michelin star chef.

Marylebone
Alternatively, you might like to celebrate the day enjoying the delights of Marylebone, browsing the cobbled streets, historic buildings and independent boutiques of the Village.
You'll be spoilt for choice if you are looking for a place to eat and drink. We love all things Ottolenghi and are thrilled that he has a cafe restaurant on Marylebone Lane with all the usual treats in store. Stop by for a mouthwatering cake and coffee, or lunch in his usual inventive style.
63-65 Marylebone Lane W1U 2RA
Moxon Street
Moxon Street is the Marylebone foodie destination, with three of the finest establishments to be found there. Rococo chocolates, La Fromagerie, and The Ginger Pig. For more info, read our more in depth guide here
Regent's Park
It looks to be the perfect sunny weekend to spend walking amongst the flower beds of Regent's Park. Hire a rowing boat, feed the ducks or catch up over coffee at one of the many cafe establishments, it is without a doubt our favourite park in London, named after the Prince Regent, who apparently once bought 85 pairs of boots on a single shopping trip!
Whatever you decide to do we wish you a joy-filled weekend!
