The Importance of Good Footwear
Share
At Tracey Neuls, we understand that our feet are our foundations and that the right shoes can, and should, offer full body (and mind) support.
From the materials they are made with, to the shape and detail - shoes are an extension of our bodies and our point of contact with the earth. Did you know that the right shoes can prevent body or joint injuries from reappearing or worsening?
Our feet are engaged with all the internal workings of our bodies - muscles, joints, and nerves - so need to be cared for, for optimal health.
Tragically, there are hundreds of millions of people across the world who do not even own a single pair of shoes. Let's not take ours for granted.
Benefits of Flat Shoes
Flat shoes are the way to go for comfort and longevity, and also a way to prevent bunions. Toes must be given room to wiggle freely within the shoe - not be restricted - so just the right amount of room is vital.
If the material of the shoe is unnatural or ill-fitting then you run the risk of callouses or corns developing. Some of our styles now come with removable insoles so the perfect fit can be attained. This also allows for the wearing of orthotic insoles that many people now opt for, for the protection of their feet.
We have a multitude of flat shoe styles that offer the elegance, sexiness or chic-ness that heels are most known for, with the bonus of being able to wear them all day with the utmost ease. Our heel selection is also created with the medical in mind - and never goes beyond a mid-height that can be worn all day in comfort.

Materials
Not only does the material matter on an ecological, and ethical level, but the quality can support the movement and freedom of the foot. Using high-quality supple leather allows the foot to breathe and move naturally - whilst giving it protection from the elements.
A greener approach to production processes also gives us emotional well-being - knowing that our needs and fashion choices are not harming the earth.
Sole Survivors
The design process of a fully-trained Cordwainer is unparalleled in terms of skill, leading directly to the comfort of the wearer. Many major fashion brands now produce shoes, as well as clothes. It is likely that you will find these uncomfortable, as they are not designed by master Cordwainers. The difference is palpable and is why our customers note that the comfort of our shoes is astonishing compared to other brands. A good Cordwainer knows the foot well and designs for its particular shape - not just following trends.
